NanoShield Marine Teak

NanoShield Marine Teak  has outstanding penetrating properties and protects and preserves the substrate without altering the natural surface texture. 

The nanoscale UV absorber in NanoShield Marine Teak  provides high durability of the coating, but without reducing the transparency of the impregnation, leaving the wood looking natural. The clear, fast drying coating is the only one of its type to prevent significant greying of the wood. 

The coating provides a protection against water stains. 

Food and drink spills can be wiped away or washed off without staining the wood.  NanoShield Marine Teak  is water repellent, yet at the same time permeable to water vapour. This allows for superior moisture regulating properties, creating maximum and outstanding wood protection.

This product does not react with the joint sealer or any other substrates and does not change the slip resistance of a wood decking.

The surface must be clean, dry and free of dirt, contaminants, oil and coatings. We recommend sanding the surface, to remove all old coatings and oxidation but also to get the best possible appearance.

Please be aware that NanoShield Marine Teak is a clear impregnation. To get an even penetration and an even colour appearance it is important to remove all grey oxidation of the surface. For preparing the teak, and to achieve the best possible performance and appearance of the final result, following surface preparation should be used.

NanoShield Teak Cleaner 

If chemical  cleaning is required we recommend using NanoShield Teak Cleaner.

Pour onto the dry Teak deck and spread out with a brush or scrub pad. Please use the brush if the wood shows deep oxidation. Allow to react for 2-3 minutes, and then lightly scrub in the direction of the wood grain. Rinse with plenty of fresh water. Extremely dirty or gray wood may require a second application.

Rinse with plenty of fresh water.

If you use a 2 part acid base cleaner please make sure the surface is neutralized and rinsed.
