NanoShield TEAK CLEANER

DESCRIPTION

NanoShield Teak Cleaner is a high performance one step cleaner concentrate in powder form.

It is exceptionally effective at cleaning and brightening teak and other natural wood. It rapidly removes dirt, oil, grime,and most stains without damaging the wood grain. It dissolves readily in ordinary tap water, is easy to apply and remove, and will not fade or alter colours of other materials accidentally contacted during application.

NanoShield Teak Cleaner does not react with the joint sealer or other substrates. Use it for cleaning and removal of your wood's surface dirt (please note, that Teak Cleaner may not be the product to use if there are special cleaning needs, like removal of old coatings).

APPLICATION DIRECTIONS

The powder can be mixed in clean tap water in different concentrations. We recommend to start with 25 grams ( 1 scoop ) in one 1 litre of hot water.

The concentration can be cut in half or doubled depending on the situation and the condition of the teak. The use of warm water will maximize the cleaning ability of NanoShield Teak Cleaner 2010. The warmer the water the faster and more effectively NanoShield Teak Cleaner 2010 will work. Stir until thoroughly dissolved.

Important. Always mix the powder into the water and not the water into the powder. As soon the cleaner will be mixed into the water it will start to react. This is a normal reaction .

On coated Teak the cleaner should be tested first. Sanding will be required if the old coating is a lacquer or a polyurethane based product. Oil based coatings can be removed with NanoShield Teak Cleaner.

For preparing the teak for new coatings, and to achieve the best possible performance and appearance of the final result following procedure should be used.

Pour onto the dry Teak deck and spread out with a soft brush or scrub pad. Allow to react for 2 -5 minutes, then lightly scrub in circular and against the wood grain. Once applied, allow solution to soak for further 3- 5 minutes then lightly brush and rinse the surface with clean water. If the area being cleaned tends to dry-out during the soak period, as can happen on very hot or windy days maintain the area wet by occasionally brush over the areas. Difficult areas may benefit from longer soaking or brushing.

Repeat this process, until the entire area has been cleaned. Rinse with plenty of fresh water. Extremely dirty or grey wood may require a second application. Hard brushing tools should be used with care. Teak is quite a soft wood and requires in most cases only gentle force to give a good result.

If the surface appears slippery after the cleaning (oil from the wood or from old pre-treatments) use more water to rinse.

This also can be neutralized with an oxalic acid solution of 50 - 100 grams in 5 litre of water. This solution can be also used to equal the colour of the teak in situations where stains have been removed or where water stains have left deep marks.

4 litre of cleaning solution covers 20 – 30 square metre depending on the substrate conditions. Coverage rates are a guideline only. 750g pack is sufficient for 30 to 60 litres of cleaning solution)

Clean all tools with water.

STORAGE

Store in a cool, dry place and protect from heat, freezing and direct sunlight. NanoShield Teak Cleaner 2010 can be stored in tightly sealed original containers for 12 months, if kept dry and at moderate temperatures. It is important to reseal containers tightly after use. The product must be stored in accordance with national regulations.
